The GLT-01 generates a pressure difference between the inside of the sample being tested and the surrounding water medium. As you immerse the sample, any existing leaks allow high-pressure gas to escape, creating observable bubbles in the water. This method, therefore, ensures accurate detection of gross leaks from 250μm.
The ASTM F2096 standard outlines procedures for testing porous and non-permeable packaging materials. By applying internal pressure, gas is released through leaks, forming bubbles in water and effectively identifying potential leak points.
